Cheerleading Competitions

Saturday 11th February 2023

Over the past two months our ever growing and ever inspiring Cheerleading Program have undertaken two competitions in Lisburn and Antrim with stunning results.

Our diligent coaching staff began preparations back in October 2022 on our new and improved team system. Within each class of our program we created two age appropriate teams; Alpha became Alpha and Zeta. Beta became Beta and Kappa. Delta became Delta and Theta and we even started work on our youngest class POPs becoming competition ready. From the ages of 4-34 with a grand total of 96 athletes competing over levels 0-3.

Our first competition of the season took place in January 2023, a whole month earlier than our usual competitions. This was a new competition to the roster in a new location in the Ekon Centre outside Lisburn. The day wasn’t without hiccups and struggles, which made the triumphs all the more sweet. Our athletes, parents and coaches held themselves to a very high standard, on and off the competition floor. Delighted that between, Alpha, Zeta, Beta, Kappa, Theta, Delta and our Dance Duo we took home;

3x 1st Place Trophies

2x 2nd Place

1 x 3rd Place

1 x 6th Place

and an awe-inspiring duo routine that took home a division championship banner to boot.

Next up came ole faithful ICE. Our regular local competition which bring out the best in our Cheerleading community. This time, it was the first outing for our adorable little POPs. For a group of athletes aged 3-6, this is a monumental task. Thankfully, with an Encanto themed routine, core memories have been formed for our athletes and the parents. The coaches near bursting with pride at what was their best ever performance of the routine.

Alpha, Zeta, Kappa and Beta all had huge upgrades to their routines, as well as reformations due to mid-season athletes joining for ICE as well as injuries that left some golden athletes supporting their friends. Each of these teams had a score increase of between 6 and 10 points. In a sport, much like gymnastics, that operates on 0.25s, this was glorious and exemplified the hard work of all involved. Regardless of the rankings at the end of the day, we would be going home winners thanks to these scoresheets and fantastic feedback from the judging panel on the quality of routines and the standard of cheerleading being taught at KSCOPE.

Our beautiful duo sat this one out in preparation for the huge dance season coming a head and our Level Four stunt group are preparing for the road to Galway.

But just in case your wondering;

1x 1st

4x 2nd

1x 6th

For the first time ever, we had official TEAM MUMS. This incredible bunch of four women, were the eyes, ears, brains, and heart of competition day. We couldn’t have done it without you.

Without question our supporters were the loudest in the room, and we thank each and every parent/ guardian/ friend etc for their love and support.

On the road to Galway for Celtic Spirit otherwise known as Irish Nationals for the big finale.

But the work doesn’t stop, for our non competing athletes they now turn to skill development and perfection. As well as preparation for our Summer Showcase.
